I've loved CUP every time I've been there.
I went first with a friend who is very into all sorts of teas and making his own blends and he spoke highly of all the tea varieties he had tried at CUP (they have a huge selection). I had a nice herbal tea that took several minutes to steep and was really well balanced with lots of interesting and subtle flavors. I usually go for a plain black tea with milk, so to go somewhere like CUP where I can try unique fruit, herbal, green, or white teas without having to buy a whole sachet of the blend is perfect.
I've eaten lunch there several times, too, and the sandwiches are always tasty with delicious side options and well-portioned servings. It's not necessarily cheap, but for a nice lunch out it's not horrible either.
I'll finish with my review of their homemade cake selection. The cakes on offer are always rotating, with unique ingredient combinations, and often "healthy-ish," while not skimping on taste. A slice of cake is the perfect end to a light lunch and can be enjoyed while you're still sipping on your individual pot of tea. A truly memorable experience was moist wedge of pear cake I had once: just the right dense texture but not heavy, delicately sweet like honey without being cloying--the perfect after-lunch treat! -

I write this purely based on a latte I purchased today. It was not good. Drinkable (barely), but did not induce the heart melting happiness I usually feel when I get a delicious coffee running through my veins.
I feel like I'm writing a harsh review because upon my arrival to this cute little establishment, it was busy with happy lunchers eating soups, sandwiches, cakes and waffles, all of which looked delightful. I guess this place is more know for its whimsical afternoon- tea type of light lunches and cakes. And apparently people lurve the tea here.
I'm not going to write this place off yet because I'm curious about its appeal and the interior is just adorable, however as far as coffee goes: no dice my friends, sorry.
The hunt for decent coffee in Aberdeen continues. -

This was one of the nicest little cafe's we found in Aberdeen. I loved the decor which had modern clean lines yet the tea theme accents gave it a homey feel. Somewhere you could hang out for a couple hours and chat.
I ordered the hot chocolate which was delicious. My partner ordered a coffee which he felt was average. I'd definitely come back to try out some of the sweets as they looked delicious. -

Really nice coffee shop in Little Belmont Street! In the city centre of Aberdeen. Well what can I say? In UK they are lacking of really nice cafeterias - Europe style and especially Greek style - - where drinking coffee is a matter of culture.. where you can go and spend hours, relaxing, eating, meeting friends, reading your favourite book! So until something like that is going to open in Aberdeen, I have to say that this place is one of the very few best alternatives that we have. Nice decoration, good portions, and a good selection of teas, fresh drinks etc. It is still new so the sofas are not yet worn out, the tables are not yet scratched, the pillows are still nice and soft and in a good condition.
It is a small place, which makes it cute; however, can get full quite quickly and easily.
Did not like the fact that the kitchen looked a bit messy, untidy, and even a bit not so clean - especially the floor area behind the counter...
Did not like also that they charge you 50p if you make a bill less than 10£. They should know that in UK we all go around with visa debits, and that we can have only a coffee to drink...
